Philly Fashion Week Recap

PFW was something I was really excited to attend because it's right here in my city! I had lots of stylish events to go to and met some awesome designers that showcased their work throughout the week. It was such a surprise to me that not many people in places as close as NYC knew about Philly fashion week. Although Philly fashion week is on a smaller scale then NYFW it is still an amazing accomplishment for this city and it's designers.

I was very excited to wear some of my favorite local designers during the week. Orgotton was one of my favorite pieces to wear and photograph. Not only is their new collection to die for because of the diversity of just one piece, but it is made from the most comfortable fabric of all time! It hugs you in all the right places and shows off just enough skin!

PFW has a urbanity feel to it, and it reflects in it's fashion. So naturally my fashion choices did as well! I think the fashion here reflects my relationship with this city, it's close knit and loving. I encourage you all to check out these amazing Philadelphia designers!

Simple Tee + Ripped Jeans

Monochrome colors are easy styling pieces for warmer fall weather. It's not quite cold yet, but the humidity has gone down and that means I can start wearing jeans and boots! I've gotten a head start on my fall footwear, for starters these slate open back booties! They were very inexpensive and they are the most comfortable booties I own now!

Simple outfits like this one are when accessories really come into play. This silk scarf chocker was the perfect addition to this very monotone casual outfit. The perfect jewelry pairing was my rocksbox jewels of the month! Jenny Bird Zenith earrings in silver were my favorite! I got so many compliments on these! They were easy add on's to my everyday simple outfits!

I mentioned on my Instagram last week that this month I will be picking 5 lucky ladies to receive 1 FREE month of Rocksbox!!! I will be announcing them later this month so you still have some time to enter! Make sure to follow @honesttwentyone & @rocksbox on Instagram & tag a friend in one of my posts who would love some designer jewels!!! You may also comment below with your email address as well! (these wont be shown publicly!)

Thank you to Rocksbox for sponsoring this post!

New Buys & Beginnings

Denim on Denim
Neon lenses

Over the last two weeks two things have happened. One I bought these super comfortable nude wedges from Chinese Laundry, that I want to live in! Two I have transformed my blog from Something Borrowed to Honest Twenty OneOver the last two months after releasing Something Borrowed I have really come into my own with the whole "blog thing". I originally started my blog because I wanted to share my thoughts about fashion, food, love, and whatever else. However after getting so involved with writing and producing my content I realized it is so much more then just sharing my thoughts. I am not a famous celeb so why do people care what I have to say, when there are a zillion other fashion bloggers out there?!

So over the last month or so I have thought about all these things that this brand I am trying to build should stand for, and what are the things I really care about and want to share with you all. The name change was my first step! This was important to me because my reasoning for Something Borrowed was no longer the same. My reasoning was because I was borrowing ideas and inspiration, putting my twist on it hence "Something Borrowed".  As I became more aware of my voice and impact as a blogger I zoned in on my end goal and purpose. Who is my target market, what is my relationship with my viewers, what companies do my viewers and I lust over, and what could I offer, as Megan the blogger, fashion expert, and business women.

These important questions and the growing success of my blog made me confident that I could do more with this then just take pictures and write about clothes. So there we have Honest Twenty One is born! HTO is for the diverse and ambitious 20 something, who is creative, curious, versatile, and ready to explore what the world can offer her. I am overly excited to announce Honest Twenty One as my new and improved website, and can't wait to share all of the exciting things I have been working so hard on.

Stay Tuned!

This is another outfit created and inspired from Aoki boutique. Including this feathered blue and gold necklace, that adds a pop of color to this patterned outfit. I loved these pants because they were super comfortable and you can get away with wearing them to work! They feel like leggings and look like dress pants! The textured fabric was also made locally which made it even better for me! I wound up loving how this sugar lips button up paired with the pants, and I added this necklace from Aoki to make the look pop! This necklace is so unique and I fell in love with the way it laid against the collared shirt.
