NYFW Day 3: Son Jung Wan, Christian Cowan, and Jonathan Simkhai

Day 3 of NYFW was actually my fifth day in the city! If you count the two days of photo shoots, LIM college panel discussion with Fashion Mingle, and the ever evolving events that happen during fashion week. So you can probably imagine the exhaustion at that point! Nevertheless actual day 3 of shows were nothing shy of amazing! Jonathan Simkhai being my all time favorite of the entire week.

After several seasons of attending NYFW shows, I think the presentation style “shows” are my favorite. Not only are they more personal but they give you the chance to appreciate the designs and then mingle and meet some of the best people in the industry! Jonathan Simkhai’s presentation was exactly that. However my absolutely favorite part was getting to see the behind the scenes. Seeing how the designer interacted with his models, the photographers, that event staff, his team, not only made me appreciate his brand, but him as a person in this industry.

I’ve heard some horror stories about designers and how they treat people. So seeing first hand the artist and the environment he creates with his team was truly impressive. Each season I gain more and more respect for those behind the scenes. Well cheers to another NYFW in the books!

NYFW Day 2: Michael Costello, Chromat, and Vivienne Hu

NYFW Day 2

Michael Costello, Chromat, and Vivienne Hu

Day 2 started with the TRESemmé team over at Spring Studios. They gave me a super cute braid and loose tousled curls. Then I was off to the Michael Costello show. The show was filled with floral dresses, bold colors, and sexy silhouettes. The Chromat show was nothing less then amazing! Every season the show gets bigger and better. Vivienne Hu gave me serious spring fever! (already, yes!) The lace, bright pale pinks and yellows, I seriously need to get one of her pieces!

NYFW Day 1: Nana Judy, Tadashi Shoji, Lanyu, Matthew Adams Dolan, and Jeremy Scott

NYFW Day 1

Day one started with the Nana Judy show. This was a highly anticipated show for me! I've been getting so much inspiration from Australia recently, so to see the Melbourne founded streetwear brand come to NYFW was incredibly exciting. Not to mention Winnie Harlow (a Victoria Secret model) walked the Nana Judy runway. Oh and did I mention there was an actual Dalmatian that walked the runway too? Yea Nana Judy's collaboration with Disney's 101 Dalmatians was presented in the September 6th show at Spring Studios.

This season I had the pleasure of working with designer Lanyu and her collaboration with makeup brand Eunarz. More on that K beauty brand later! Lanyu has a beautiful mix of traditional Chinese artisanship and modern design. Her designs are breath taking season after season. Also this season I was happy to see Matthew Adams Dolan & Jeremey Scott what an experience each of their shows are. Jeremey Scott's show is not only a fashion show but feels more like a broadway production!

Home Away From Home With Omni Berkshire

I’ve always loved staying in a hotel in NYC ever since I was a little girl. I was obsessed with the movie Eloise at the plaza, so I would pretend each time I went to a hotel, that I lived there! Although growing up having dance competitions in the city, staying at different hotels all the time really made me appreciate a good hotel from a bad one. Omni Berkshire was definitely a good one! It's luxurious, sophisticated, and homie vibes made it the perfect place to call home for the week of NYFW. Located in the perfect spot of midtown NYC, near plenty of great shopping, and eateries.

Omni Berkshire has locations all around the world, so becoming an Omni member is more then worth it! Receive so many opportunities to upgrade your trips, and earn free nights! I can't wait to stay with the Omni Berkshire family again soon!

NYFW 5 Review - Zimmermann, Libertine, Anna Sui, Yajun

Day five was my last official day here at NYFW. My first and last show was Zimmermann I feel like I've said this about every show thus far, but I seriously mean it when I say Zimmermann was my favorite show for Fall 18'. The soft muted color palette was breath taking. Everything from lace detailing, to neck - ties, and fitted bodices, I mean... it had everything and more! Although I am sad it is my last day, I am so happy and blessed that I was able to attend another amazing season. Each time getting better and more involved in the industry truly reminds me why I started this in the first place. I truly appreciate all the support and love you guys continue to show me. To all the friends and connections built during this season I am so excited to have met you all and only hope for better things to come in the future for us all.
