Monochrome Living

Monochromatic rooms are bright and to me that cheers up the space no matter what the weather is like or mood you are in. These are the keys things I pay attention to when decorating our monochrome space.

Decor materials: Silver and gold plating, wood, leather, straw, are the types of textured pieces that make a very minimalistic room standout. They look the best against a white backdrop, and keep the room from feeling bare.

The power of good lighting: Never underestimate a room with good lighting. The power of good lighting, or natural lighting can change everything for a particular room. Before committing to any type of paint colors consider the lighting you have. With white, or really light gray wall colors lighting is extremely crucial, other wise the room may make you feel trapped!

The art of effective storage: The key to make a room look less cluttered but still hold a lot of your stuff is effective storage. If your anything like me I don't like wires, and gaming systems to show in my living room space, so I use shelving units that will hide them! Floating shelves are a modern way to get that junk stored away!

Something Aoki

Photography by: James Conley

I am very excited to be collaborating with a local Philadelphia boutique called Aoki just outside of Rittenhouse Square. Not to mention finally getting the chance to shoot outside again! Aoki has everything from casual wear, sophisticated dresses, edgy jewelry, and even some home decor! The Boutique is perfectly painted teal from the outside in, so it is pretty hard to miss. The owner of Aoki Alina and I met to pick some spring starters to share with you all!

Now that the weather has broke here in Philadelphia officially, my eyes have been set on finding dresses to wear! This Elliatt monochrome stripe rule dress from Aoki was the perfect option for a casual day in the city. My GO TO shoes for an outfit like this are my Chinese laundry sandals. They are super comfortable and go with almost anything! Just by changing my shoes can completely transform this look from casual to dressy. This day to night look is now available at Aoki (only a Few left!!)

Stay tuned for more outfit collabs with Aoki!

I took to the streets of Manayunk for the first time since the weather has officially broke and it  was a breath of fresh air! Literally the air felt like spring and everyone was out to enjoy it. I have always loved monochrome looks. To me they can be bright and bold even with the same color palate. So I mixed shades of white, gray, and cream. I added a jean jacket for an extra pop!

My shoe obsession this season has reached an all time high! I came across these low platforms at Primark, (which I'll talk about more later)! These shoes were so inexpensive and they were a perfect pairing piece for this look. The mix of cream, gray, and white really came through the snake skin pattern. Exploring the streets of Manayunk was so much fun, and inspired me for some other looks I'll later explore with you all. Just like the scenery I hope your days are as bright as this one was. Thank you for stopping by! xo
