Day one for team honest at NYFW A/W18. Our first show, JUST IN XX set the bar high! I loved getting a taste of the abundant Taiwanese culture that Justin, Yi-Ying Chou (designer of Justininxx) brought out in his collection. The name of his collection “SuperlinXX” aka super links, has a relevance that aligns perfectly with what’s going on today.
Thank you to Lexus for providing me with transportation from show to show! #howfashiontravels

Fashion Hong Kong brought so much light to the runway. Designers Anveglosa, Harrisonwong, and Heaven Please+ were all extraordinarily unique. By far one of my favorites from day one was Chromat. I personally got to go back stage and thank the model who bared her double mastectomy scars in front of the camera. Not only did I get to thank her but the designer who put her there, Becca McCharen-Tran. This is something that I so appreciate being represented in NYFW. All women scars or no scars, should feel beautiful in their own skin and be able to flaunt it strongly. “Chromat runway shows are a celebration of the strong powerful women, femmes and non-binary #chromatbabes in our world.” - Becca McCharen-Tran.

Pop of Color & Comfort
Growing up I hated turtlenecks! Real talk, but now I think their classic winter pieces. I love how they make a pair of trousers casual. When it comes to trousers I'm weird about that material their made from. These burnt orange trousers from Neon Roses are made from the softest material ever! With just the width to them they pair so well with something oversized. In this case a boxy cut sweater. I recently found the brand Neon Roses on Flagship Market. A place where a variety of different designer brands can be found! More on them coming to the blog soon!
The color red has dominated the fashion industry this fall!
If you followed along my NYFW journey you know that I saw a tremendous amounts of stripes and ruffles on the runway This is nothing new for fashion but designers are definitely getting even more creative with this trend. Another thing I loved seeing was muted pinks and loud pops of color! This is going to be huge for me since I tend to have a more monochrome color pallet. My favorite new trend I saw had to be the replacement of last years corset trend with a sweater tied at the waist. Creatures of Comfort make this look effortless. As always Chromat is one of my favorite shows for the way they challenge diversity, race, size, and even gender. I love that the brand continuously pushes to stand out in that way. Not to mention seeing Jordyn Woods walk was amazing! (see it here) All in all this was another impressive and thrilling NYFW. It was a crazy week's worth of inspiration overload, and I can't wait to see what's coming next!
